True eccentrics never deliberately set out to draw attention to themselves. They disregard social conventions without being conscious that they are doing anything extraordinary. This invariably wins them the love and respect of others, for they add colour to the dull routine of everyday life

My cousin, Harry, keeps a large curiously-shaped bottle on permanent display in his study. Despite the fact thar the bottle is tinted a delicate shade of green, an observant visitor would notice that it is filled with what looks like a thick, greyish substance. The shop assistant looked puzzled and Harry repeated the word, slowly stressing each syllable.
